Government Advertising 10 Months, 1 Week ago
How can I stop the government wasting my money on political propaganda?

There should be caretaker provisions about government advertising in present circumstances -- I understand government is forbidden to run ads from public money once an election is called, but the ban should also apply when a parliamentary term is due to expire in, say, 6 months.

It is a free country isn't it?
Why stop the democratic process just because we don't agree what is being said?
I am sure the other side would find a way of doing precisely the same thing when it was their turn.
More information is better, in my view, we need to make decisions _base_d on facts not hearsay. The media wont stop giving us their view and don't tell me they aren't biased.

No, regrettably its not a free country -- its a very expensive one, like a million bucks a day of our money for political advertising.
I agree Labor would do the same in these circumstances. I reckon we should push for nobody to be able to do it.

Hi all. This isn't really the place on the site for this sort of debate. If you want to talk about these issues, it would be great if you could do a story or opinion piece on it. Otherwise, this really is the place for story ideas and technical questions.
