Losing Touch: $6.5 Million for Cricket Museum 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Celebrating some much-needed hospital equipment or the building of a new school would be my preferred way of spending my money.

I agree with you but the major parties are like that. In Queensland, the Labor Government has allowed hospitals, emergency services, roads, ports, etc fall apart. We have hospitals close their emergency departments due to Labor's neglect under Beattie. Not enough money around they say.

Yet, they pump money into a football stadium and you know what, this turned out to be the popular decision. The Queensland Nationals _object_ed to this funding of a footy field when hospitals should have got the money instead but the people on the street in Brissy preferred to see money spent on stadium than hospitals.

Actually the people of Brisbane did not prefer the footy stadium. They use it because that's where the games are. Anyone who thinks the people made this choice has been listening to the ex Premier Beattie too long.

As to Howard's Bradman museum, I'd be very interested to see if Bradman's team mates have their opinions of the man at the forefront of the Museum. Tiger O'Reilly for example who said Bradman was about the most selfish p_layer_ he'd ever come across. Apparently used to take a single at the end of an over so he could keep the strike. All the time.

Howard's history will remove Tiger of course as we don't want our icons blemished with truth now do we?
