Our major political party's are made up of coalitions between enemies in their seeking to govern. What if they changed their allegiances so that they were co-aligned with like minds that suits modern times?

The way I see it, these new allegiances would look something like;

'Conservative Alliance' would be made up of the Nationals and the conservative elements of the Liberals.

'Socialist Alliance' would be the left faction of the ALP joined up with the Democrats and Greens Parties.

'New Liberals' would be best made up of the moderates of the Liberal Party and the Right faction of the ALP. These two groups have very little where they disagree with each other. In fact, my time with the NSW Liberals(1992-98), I found the Liberal moderates to the left of the ALP right faction.

A flaw in this is that the Conservative element of the Liberals is economically dry while the true nature of the Nationals is agrarian capitalist/socialist. Maybe if they sides with the Liberal alliance creating a right/right factional set up leaving the Nationals to take on the nationalist ideals of Australia that people are craving for hungrily.

Wouldn't this make for interesting politics?
