I was born in Townsville, my family has been here three generations..I have lived most of my life here. In the last 11 years, I have watched the below-par performance of Peter Lindsay with distressed interest. He is all talk and no action. If you want evidence of the scary mind that lurks inside his skull here are some of things that he has said in public, to journalists: 
After 11 years as Member for Herbert and a few token months as Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Mr Lindsay thinks: 
 
• The solution to the Housing Affordability Crisis is for “financially illiterate” young people to use “milk crates” as furniture, like he claims to have had to, and sit around and wait for it all to pass. 
 
• The solution to the skills shortage is to shut down TAFE, because according to him it’s a “failing institution” and scatter ATC’s around marginal seats. At its peak, the Townsville ATC will produce 150 apprentices. TAFE produces 2000 apprentices every year, as well as thousands of certificate and diploma graduates. He also claims the city campus is empty when it’s actually operating at capacity.
