One of the National party ministers recently said "Unfortunately Australia does not have any areas suitable for geothermal power" 
 
This shows the level of ignorance on the subject Australia has one of the worlds best geothermal fields in western queensland the only reason it is not being exploited is because some one has to make the decision to run expensive power lines to the area to harness the power. A vision for the future? I don't think so :-(
