Too much self interest

By: raven (Registered ) on 25-10-2007 11:09

"I have been writing my fingers to the bone for a couple of years now, but it appears they are too heavily invested in business as usual".

As I see it Anne from a politicians viewpoint there are not many votes in tomorrow's problems. Give the 'lackeys' what they want NOW to get their vote!

Australia and most of the so-called developed world's population has become impatient and greedy and demands instant gratification and is full of self interest. Pollies know this and pander to it. Mankind is drug induced. Pick your drug...power, greed, respect etc.

Nuclear is a disaster, those that went down that path now tell us how troublesome it is... especially the legacy of its waste.

So in frustration.. what to do...Things have to be changed by action, it still speaks louder than words. Even then.... I remember being anti nuclear as a late teenager [a few years ago] but we have a greater number of bombs than ever before. So did all that young energy spent do any good?

Perhaps we are on a collision course, maybe the doom merchants have a point.. we spiral downward..god help the grandkids 'cause the politicians wont!

There was a time on this planet you were lucky if you hadn't been killed by age 40, now we want to live forever as a teenager. Maybe our planet, as like some farmers, is becoming unsustainable to its inhabitants. The writing is on the wall if you care to look.

And no I'm not a Jesus freak or doom merchant but perhaps Armageddon not too far from a reality.
