living in tully, fnq, i heard a peter lindsay ad today, on the radio. 
he claims credit for a significant improvement to the national highway system occurring between townsville and cairns. to the best of my knowledge, most of this is happenning in the seat of kennedy and i got the distinct impression from the tone of his statement that the coalition government thought that they deserve to win this seat back from the independent, bob katter, bacause of the pork barrel sums spent here. 
infrastructure improvements in this seat are long overdue and perhaps it has more to do with the fact that the government desperately wants to reacquire this seat than any urgency to fix longstanding problems that motivates their spending.
