Billion's backflip on this was amazing from pouring scorn on Rudd for unfunded proposals to increase pensions to criticizing him for not going far enough in a few days. 
 
Having personally met Mr Billson my opinion remains extremely unfavorable. Again they have come out with smoke and mirrors just before an election making promises but they are very short on details and still will not compensate those of us injured in peacetime duties. 
 
There are a few things I would like to see happen. Pensions are tied to politicians pay and benefit increases, a senate enquiry into the running of the RSL and swift and fair compensation for service personnel injured in the line of duty regardless of the location. DVA is happy to pay lawyers to fight veterans rather than do their job and compensate for injuries. 
 
Now we find the government is adding more insult to our injuries by compensating farmers and horse owners while they still deny us fair compensation. They are gutless wonders !
