Rudds 'failure'

By: raven (Registered ) on 21-10-2007 23:19

Rudd never 'failed' to suggest keeping costs down because Howard made that mistake saying he would keep interest rates down in the last election. An we all know what happened there! Rudd, I think, has learnt not to do that.

Some things cannot be promised when our ecomony is influenced by global events.

quote "http://blogs.brisbanetimes.com.au

By: virtual (Registered ) on 21-10-2007 23:23

"The biggest loser from last night was Peter "Mr Smug" Costello. He says it was just loud laughter, but respected journalists say it was heckling and rude talking from the Coalition front bench. This in particular from a man who harbours Prime Ministership aspirations and who then can't show the respect, courtesy and manners that this debate deserved. I'd expect drunken yobbos or immature boffins to laugh, cat call and carry on when a person is talking, not a man who wants to be Prime Minister. Show some respect to the position Mr Costello. You are as big a thorn to Mr Howard and his quest to win this election as Mr Rudd is." end quote.
BTW .. mr editor, this page is really hard to read

why no Greens?

By: anne_elk (Registered ) on 21-10-2007 23:38

Such an obvious question, yet why no answers!

I would love to see Bob Brown take them both on, and wipe the floor clean of them both with his Party's honesty and integrity.

He has the RIGHT answers because the Greens Party have the BEST policy solutions.

The Greens time has come! If only mainsteam media would give them a change to show the public.

wipe the floor with honesty ....

"I would love to see Bob Brown take them both on"
you could hardly say that bob baby has a way with words now could you ... he is one reason why the green vote is so dismal ... as an orator he needs a total rebuild if that is possible. (or another speech writer ... can't remember if he writes his own or not)
BTW we did touch base on oxford st many years ago and even then, in this no pressure surrounding (and no, it wasn't the barrack, male preferred space nightclub or stonewall) he was .... "timid" for want of a better word.

Tax reduction

By: Gezza5240 (Registered ) on 22-10-2007 01:15

I was very disappointed with Rudd's 'me-too-ing" on the tax reduction. If he wants to have an education 'revolution and really fix the environment, he should be spending that 34 billion on such things. It is worlthless to give back insignificant amounts of money to individuals when there is so much good for the whole community that could be done with such an amount. Hospitals, dental health, roads, pensioner poverty, reconciliation and many other problems need great amounts of money as well.
He could have made a real difference but was, it seems, spooked by Howard/Costello's pitch to the hip-pocket. Cowardly and disappointing.
