This project is funded by the Australian research council, and we are bound by
academic ethics as well as Australian privacy laws. We are also governed by
publishing laws and electoral laws, though, and for these and other practical
reasons we need to collect a certain level of personal information from you. We
make the following undertakings about this information, though. 1. We will not pass your details onto any third party, or to anyone outside the youdecide2007 editorial and research team. 2. Sensitive private information, like phone numbers, addresses etc. will be retained only for the length of the youdecide2007 project, unless you wish to be kept informed about our future projects (we'll ask you at the conclusion of the election coverage). 3. This is in part an academic research project, and we want to understand the dynamics of the youdecide2007 community, so we will be collecting statistical information about how the community uses the project. But we will not personally identify anyone in any research that is published in this project, or in any polling results that we publish during the campaign. |
