Thursday 25th October, Gosford and the seat of Robertson was graced by the presence of shadow treasurer Wayne Swan who addressed an ALP lunchtime meeting.
Attending this meeting was candidate for Robertson, Belinda Neal, and
the audience were in the main the Labor faithful. Conspicuous by her
absence was State ALP member for Gosford Marie Andrews, one wonders
what was so important for her to miss such and occasion when a federal
shadow minister, and party colleague, visits her seat.
It was also interesting to note that the Labor candidate
for Robertson, Belinda Neal, never actually spoke beyond initial
introductions.
During the hour or so address nothing of any importance was revealed
and from some accounts the meeting simply turned into a sledging game
against the Liberal government and incumbent Jim Lloyd.
Of course with such an audience there was plenty of applause for
nothing really! We are two weeks into this election campaign and many
in this area are feeling it is all a bit of a bore.
If ministers of the Wayne Swan caliber cannot produce more than
simply pointing out how bad the opposition is without producing how
they are going to be better, why vote for them? Fair question or not?
