The Greens Launch Multicultural Policy in Moorooka, Brisbane
Following in the footsteps of the two major parties, The Greens launched their Multicultural Policy last Sunday at the Sudanese Umdorman Café in Moorooka, Brisbane.
Although late in the campaign, the event was well attended by over fifty people including Greens Candidates, members of the African community in Moreton, and a small number of local supporters.
Greens Senate Candidate Larissa Waters hosted the event and spoke directly to members of the African community about the anticipated long-term results of The Greens Multicultural Policy.
The main points of the policy included increased funding to adult English Programs with specific attention paid to English classes with childcare facilities for women, the re-instatement of a Minister for Multiculturalism, and increased spending on teaching African and Asian Languages in Australian schools.
